Most Bay of Fires trips only show you the beach. This one gets you there by way of a lavender farm or century old memorial trees, a rainforest walk, and a plate of oysters straight off the lease, all in one long day out of Launceston.

Getting to the coast

You'll depart Launceston at 8.30am with pick up from central hotels included. From September to March the day starts at Bridestowe Lavender Farm for a guided talk through the paddocks and a stop at the gift shop or cafe, while from April to August you'll visit the Legerwood Memorial Tree Carvings instead, hearing the stories behind the soldiers remembered in each carved tree. Either way, you'll stop for a short Myrtle Rainforest Walk through Welborough Pass along the way.

Bay of Fires and the coast

At the Bay of Fires itself you'll taste fresh oysters straight from Lease 65 when they're available, then spend time on the beach at Binalong Bay and Taylor's Beach. Harbour Point is a must for photos, its granite boulders streaked with bright orange lichen against the white sand and blue water. From there it's on to the fishing village of St Helens for a relaxed break before the drive home through Beaumaris, Scamander, St Mary's Pass and the Fingal Valley.
