You need to be able to swim and tread water. Life jackets and wetsuits are provided, and during high river levels, usually January to March, the drift is generally for strong swimmers aged 14 and over.

The freshwater section you drift is not known crocodile habitat. It's cool, clear, shaded and fast moving, and the team never swims where crocodiles live.

The minimum age is 5, though high river levels can raise the age for the river drift. The maximum recommended weight is 110 kg.

No. The river drift isn't suitable for pregnant guests, or for anyone with limited mobility or a recent injury affecting movement.

Tours generally run in the rain, with umbrellas and ponchos supplied. Heavy rain can affect the river drift, so the team monitors river levels with cameras, a gauge and radar.
