Commonly asked questions.

Most visitors spend around four hours, and arriving by early afternoon means you won't miss the 3pm Crocodile Attack Show. If you're fitting it into a short stay, our guide to how many days to spend in Cairns can help.

Hartley's is about 37 km north of Cairns, roughly 40 minutes along the Captain Cook Highway, and about 25 minutes south of Port Douglas. Turn onto Quaid Road and then Harry Freeman Drive into the free car park, as some navigation systems don't recognise those roads.

In adverse weather or for operational reasons, Hartley's may close some areas and change boat cruise times for visitor safety. Presentations, encounters and cruises can be amended without notice.

Self drive admission lets you return as often as you like within three consecutive days of first entry, as long as staff stamp your park map on day one. The pass isn't transferable, so bring photo ID, and a repeat boat cruise is at the park's discretion.

Child tickets cover ages 4 to 15, and a family ticket covers two adults and two children. Children must be accompanied and actively supervised by an adult at all times, including on the boat.

Lilies Bistro overlooks the lagoon, serving coffee and snacks from 8.30am to 4pm and hot and cold meals from 9.30am to 2.30pm. Only bottled water is allowed on the boat.

Yes, coach packages run from Cairns, Palm Cove, Trinity Beach and Port Douglas and must be booked ahead. The Kuranda Scenic Rail and Skyrail with Hartley's tour combines the park with a day in Kuranda.
